The Velvet Room Boutique was created by mother and daughter duo Deborah Richardson and Jessica Elliott. Both bring years of experience in the creative arts and the fashion industry.
The Velvet Room has created a collective of over 80 designers who specialize in business chic, classic and unique one-of-a-kind fashions.

Where are they today?
Brooke Johansen: (Boutique Manager, Fashion Event Coordinator) Brooke is a Business/Communication student at SFU with both fashion management and event management under her belt. She will be taking her studies to Paris in 2012 and will return to the Velvet Room Group in 2013 for new ventures.
Lucy Wilson-Story:(Stylist and Accessories Designer)
Lucy studied Fashion Design with a major in Accessories in the UK. After
graduation in 2009 she returned to her hometown of Vancouver. She has a
mosaic of skills including social media marketing, handbag design,
personal stylist and is of great help as an executive assistant. (Lucy
works in the fashion industry and continues to develop her accessories line)

Marina is a BCIT Web Development and Business student who works with local businesses to develop, update and improve their websites.
Her passion for web design and desire to bring the best to her customers made her a valuable addition to our team. She is a great tutor and always there for advise or to fix a glitch!

Ashley has taken on the position as our official editor assisting with the technical side of
our voices of style newsletter and blog. Ashley is an Editing and Publishing
certificate student with SFU's Writing and Publishing program. She enjoys
graphic design, editing, writing and is also a monthly contributor to
Vancouver Fashion Ezine.
Vanessa Lewis: (PR, Events and Social Media Consultant)
Vanessa has been part of the VR's media team for 2 years. I can highly
recommend her services to anyone. Vanessa has emerged herself in the
Vancouver fashion scene. If you want to know what's what, ask Vanessa.
