60’s styles are in full swing. The cuts are classic and feminine. There is an uncanny resemblance between these two dresses, one created by Elie Saab and the other by Evan Biddell. Evan recently moved back to Vancouver from Toronto bringing the east coast’s sophistication with him. We are proud to call Evan Biddell one of our own.

Cassie Dee the recent winner of the Mercedes-Benz Start Up Competition designed this chiffon dress specifically for the owner of the Velvet Room. As mother of the groom Deborah wanted a soft flowing dress that was youthful yet not too revealing. Cassie created the perfect event dress! This dress is now offered in an array of colours and sizes at the Velvet Room. Later we found this look alike dress by Valentino. Great minds think alike!

There is no need to go to Paris, Milan, or NY for an haute couture inspired piece, it can be found within our own pool of Great Canadian Designers. To suggest that anything can compare to the successful designs of Marchesa would be a stretch but not for our Saniya Khan of Toronto. Saniya is famous for one-of-a kind hand painted silk and mixed textile creations.
